Memorable Milestones:
Successfully completing my first Century Ride, Tierra Bella (2000). My fiancée and friends were there to cheer me on. I have a picture on my wall to remind me of the happy event.
Who is your cycling icon and why:
Lance Armstrong. I watched my first Tour De France in 1999. I remember seeing Lance do incredible things on a bicycle, just after battling cancer. I was so impressed watching him on TV it gave me goose bumps.

Why I started cycling:
I've always loved bikes. I remember having an Orange Krate Bicycle when I was a kid. Great times!!
Why I am still riding:
I love to ride. It's in my blood. Smile! I love the speed, outdoors. The being able to cover more ground than walking and be closer to the world around me. You just can't get that from a car.
Why I still Race:
That's a good questions, seeing how 2001 was my first year of racing and I fracture my right hand, left hand, and have several new scares on my body, plus cost me a lot of money. IT'S THE RUSH! THE CHALLENGE OF GOING AGAINST OTHER COMPETITIORS AND POSSIBILLY WINNING!!
Favorite Ride:
Deathride 2001, because I got to spend quality time with my fiancée days before the race, she was there to support me (I remember her running trying to hand me some Gatorade as I rode by and I yelled no time), doing the ride with friends, and challenging myself to a level I had not done before.
Nemesis Ride:
Land Park Criterium Race. My first race back from fracturing my right hand in an Early Bird Criterium. I made it all the way through the race to have someone take out my front wheel on the last 500 yards of the race. I remember watching my bike dance on the asphalt, as I was hitting the asphalt. It all looked like it was happening in slow motion. Damages around $600.00 dollars.
My Race Bikes:
Road 2000 Motobecane Le Champion, and for Mtb. 2001 Santa Cruz-Superlight.
My worst bike:
Royce Union Mtb. Bike (purchased at Sears).
Training Philosophy:
live to ride. Smile!!
Style:
Focused and out spoken. Do it with a Smile!
Short Term Goals:
Finish in the top ten in Criterium races and do more road races. Climb faster.
Long Term Goals:
possibly have a bike shop of my own when I retire, but of course keep riding.
