Racing age:
25
Marital status:
Engaged to Kathleen
Job:
Paralegal for insurance defense and night time law school student.
Hobbies:
bike, beer, reading, working out and other fun stuff.
Category:
5 on my way to 4's.
Preferred type of racing:
Road, hill climbs and TT. With further plans to jump into the world of Mountain Biking XC, and Cylco-Cross. Maybe track.
Race resume:
Winters Road Race, Esparto TT and Mt. Tam Hill Climb.
Memorable Milestones:
Training for and completing my first century, The Chico Wildflower. It was special because I went to Chico State and in my excitement to actually get to do it I only got two hours of sleep the night before.
Who is your cycling icon and why:
Lance for his work ethic and smarts. Tyler because I feel like a sissy when I complain about getting a scratch on a simple training ride. Lemond, because nobody had to go through more crap to get his Tour victories, and for not the 40 shotgun bullets in his body, could have had five or even six Tours himself. Floyd Landis, given the right conditions, he'll be one bad mofo.

Why I started cycling:
I watched Lemond win the 89 tour on TV and said that is so cool! And then a method to help get back in a non-circular shape. College had its effects on that.
Why I am still riding:
I lost 40lbs, I plan to keep it off. And running stop signs have never been so much fun.
Why I still Race:
Need to take my riding to the next level to keep things interesting.
Favorite Ride:
Redwood road, because you have no idea you are in the bay area. Cherokee Road in Oroville California. In the spring it is green, with waterfalls along the canyon walls, when you reach the top you are greeted with a stunning view of white covered mountain tops and to your right you look down upon the Great Central Valley.
Nemesis Ride:
Mines road, only time I have done it I was stuck between the fast group and the slow group. The cold wind picked up I got cold, stiff, and the pain started to take over. It sucked.
My Race Bikes:
Cannonade R700 USA limited edition. Stiff, light, and a sweet paint job. There shall be more to follow.
My worst bike:
I did not want to put something down, cause I love all bikes, but my 2nd BMX was so crappy I just have to. My 10 year old clunker mountain bike weights less than this thing did. I was glad to see it go.
Training Philosophy:
Do it correctly, train with friends to keep the boredom from setting in, and rest as hard as you train.
Style:
Right now: Village Idiot.
When I am really good: Pure Thuggish.
Short Term Goals:
Work on my decending, I mean I really suck.
Long Term Goals:
Win something, Cat 3, and stage racing they look painfully fun.
