What Brian J. saw:
Category: B
Result: Mid-pack
Well, I finally got a chance to drag my cyclocross bike out of the house this past Sunday and man was it a "BLAST"!!!
I went out Sunday with Brendon to the Super Prestige Series on the Peninsula. This race was at coyote point. They did a great job setting up the course. It had mud, single track, climbing, hurdles, fast pavement, and yes in two sand pits. It was perfect cyclocross weather. Temps. in the fifty to sixty range and an off and on rain. F.Y.I., I had to hose off my uniform before putting in the washer. I actually had to wash everything twice and my shoes are still drying.
As for the race, I race in the group "B"'s. These races are alittle faster and alittle longer than the "C" races. We had a full field I believe which should have been 50 riders. Everything started out really fast, which is typical and then usually gets into a rhythm after a couple of laps, but the first lap was a crazy one! Bikes and riders flying everywhere on and off. Heh-heh....!!!
I was alittle stiff with my bike handling skills do to my first race of the season, but felt good about my finish. I believe I finished in the top 20. Can't wait until the District Championships, Dec.21st. Maybe I will see you guys out there(Bob).
