What Richard saw:
Category: A
Result: Mid-pack
I was our only representative on Wednesday and was asked by several
people where everyone else from the team were. I was pack-filler in the
A group which turned into a duel between Mike Dunn and Jackson Stewart.
The first event was a 15 lap scratch where I had difficulty hanging on
at the end. Second was a snowball. Third race was an unknown distance to
win and out where I hung in better.
The final race was a 50 lap points race combined with the B's. At one
point I bridged up to Mike Dunn and Gary Yakota which was a bit of a
mistake. Gary Yakota is so small that he should be riding 650c wheels
and Mike Dunn is so small that he *is* riding 650c wheels. Draft? What
draft? Anyway, towards the end, I picked up a few points which were
enough for me to get a point in the A omnium. The good news was that I
was able to hang on on the lead lap.
