Result: Mid-pack

Summary Maybe 17th out of 34. Avg 23.5mph for me, much faster for the breakaway group!!! It was a small field with some decent wind, cold temp.

Dried out for the 1,2,3s. Lot of wind from the south and west so had to play major gutterball to get any draft at all on the main straights. I was real cold and that start and my legs felt really stiff, so I decided to just try and hang on while I tried to loosen up.

The serious guys split the pack in two and then both of those split apart. I just hung, but when the back pack split up, quite a few just bailed, I got away with two other guys and we rotated pretty well. We reeled in two guys up front and then just soldiered on. Just before 5 to go we got lapped by Larry and three other big guys.

At first I hesitated then I decided what the heck and jumped in. After a little bit I got in their rotation and put in some good pulls. On the last lap I ended up pulling on the back straight as no one would come around. I got like 7th, but I wasn't on the same lap, so I ended up 17th. Good work out anyway. Sure wasn't much fun. I prefer better weather and higher speeds.
