Result: Back of pack

The weather was terrible at Patterson. It was foggy, cold, and the road were wet. The field for the Cat 5 was big, so they divided the field into two groups and I was in the first group.

As soon as the race starts, I saw two riders break away from the main pack. Then, the pack caught them about 10 miles. I was hanging at the back of the pack. About half way through the race, several riders at the front speed up and took off. I tried to catch up the lead group and I couldn’t close the gap. I work together with one guy and we picked up more riders as we go through. We were doing good pace line to chase the lead group. Then the road gets stepper and stepper and I got dropped from the chase group at the big climb before turn around point. After descending, I found one rider from my group and we work together to the finish line.
