Result: Mid-pack

A remarkable thing happened at the track yesterday. Pritpal was riding a bicycle! He came down for the warmup, but didn't race. He did however promise to be racing in a few weeks.

I had a problem in the warmup with my rear race wheel - a loose bearing. I therefore needed to change to my spare which required a change of cog so I was on the correct gear. This basically prevented me from having a warmup so I was cold at the start of a cold evening with 5 racing groups and only 3 rounds of racing so getting un-cold was not easy.

First race was a lotto. I judged an effort pretty nicely to get second in what turned out to be the second of 3 sprints. This was enough for 5th and an omnium point.

Second race was a 10 lap scratch. At one point I rolled through in the pole lane and everyone went up the track behind me. I decided to give it a go and though I was joined by Jesse from AV, we weren't given much by the group.

My final race was a brisk 25 lap points race with the Pro/1/2's. I hung on in the group spinning my 49x15 for all I was worth and finally warming up.

Looking back, it was interesting to have a bad day at the track. We all have them and I certainly had one last night.
