Another fun day of racing. We raced around the course a couple of times, fairly uneventfully.

On the final lap, on the back section before the first climb someone crashed rather spectactularly into a drainage ditch. I was feeling OK in the pack. A break of two got up the road pretty far, but they were eventually reeled in by the first big climb. I felt good going up the climb. On a smaller climb before the final Papa Bear, I made a big move to the front in order to go into the final ascent in good position. I felt pretty good, and ended up going onto Papa Bear in about 10th or so. But once the road kicked up I struggled and was passed by many folks, finishing at 20th position.

As a side note, the LeMatin rider that won had blown out his front tire on the big high-speed descent of the 2nd lap. Fortunately it was after the curvy section and he was able to control it (we were probably going 40 mph at the time). Apparently he got a spare wheel and proceeded to catch the pack after chasing for a couple miles and went on to win the race.
