Official results
What Tim saw:

Category: 4
Result: Off the back

The course:
It is a hot dog shaped course with the startline about 1/4 up the hill and the finish line about 4/5 up the hill, both on the same longer side. The course descends on the same straight-away, and on two right-hand turns. The other long straight is flat with a head- wind. The next two rights start the climb back up to the finish.

My goal for this race was simple - don't get dropped. I started the race in the back and going up the hill this was fine. However, on the two downhill corners, we had to brake-check hard followed by a big surge going into the straight-away. I moved up during the next couple of laps to save more energy on the downhill. I think I was able to stay near the front for a couple of laps.

My legs started to complain about 3/4 of the way through the race and I drifted backward and began yo-yo'ing off the back for a couple of laps. On the climb up the hill for bell lap, I went out the back. I made this a recovery lap, passed some massive carnage at about 300m before the finish, and rolled in 42nd.

I still don't like hills.
